Working for DM Lair, a roleplaying game YouTube/streaming host, has presented several design challenges. When laying out his monthly Lair Magazine publication, he provides the interior information, the artwork specified for each section, and at least two options for cover images. I use an established InDesign template for the interior, but putting it all together in layout is the work, and fill in the empty white spaces with various stains, ornamental decorations, and ink splotches.
